Trying New Things  
Hey, gang:

If you're a regular reader here, you're no stranger to the fact that I like to mess around with layout and options and that sort of thing as they pertain to this blog. Of late, I've been entertaining the idea of switching to Squarespace. I've got a new entry on that blog, so if you don't mind, take a quick trip over there and have a look. Comments are on, so have at it.

I probably won't kill the account (especially since I just paid another year's subscription a few months ago). I'll probably leave a placeholder pointer if I decide to go anywhere else.

Mind you, I've been here for about nine years, and I'm considering jumpingat the moment... LJ has gone a bit iffy on me after the russians took over.

It definitely feels a lot slower of late, and the feature set isn't very robust. It also requires a bit too much technical aptitude than I can muster to customize to my satisfaction.

I've looked at Squarespace, but I'm not sure it'll do it for me. i'm not a big fan of hosted solutions. I've got Wordpress running on Fragments of Shadow, with a plugin that crossposts my entries over here. Gives me the best of both worlds. :)
